I went home to Indiana for my birthday a couple weeks ago. The main event of this trip was a family visit to the newly constructed WORLD’S LARGEST White Castle restaurant in Louisville KY.
On our way down, we passed the massive White Castle factory in Orleans IN, and our mouths were watering. My brother Cyrus was whining and moaning in the backseat, so very hungry. I gave him some mints to tide him over.
Now, it is a pretty short drive from Bloomington to Louisville: about an hour and a half on the route through Paoli and Floyd’s Knobs. So it was only noon when we arrived and we were afraid it was too early for Castles. But we ate 20 anyway. Y’know, they copyrighted that term “slyders”, but I have always called them “castles”.
Anyway, you can see Cy’s relief in this pic.
All the other photos I’ve posted on Flickr are also from my trip. Most of them are just homesick-making views of mom and dad’s land in the Kentucky Bottoms of Greene County Indiana. Enjoy!

Ahh, nothing like family and food to make one happy. Glad you had a nice time in Indiana.
